WELCOMING
WEEK ONE: COUNTERCULTURE
The goal for this week is to create an environment for hospitality in your life.
“May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.”

Romans 15:5-7
IMAGINE.

What would it look like for hospitality to become a priority in your life and in your home?

PRACTICE.

1. Make a list (on your own or with your family) of people that you could welcome into your home in the coming weeks.

2. What tends to get in the way of hospitality? List the reasons or excuses that make the practice of welcoming a challenge for you.

3. Make one change that pushes against these obstacles.

MORE.

-
Read: The Simplest Way to Change the World, Dustin Willis, Brandon Clements

-
Cook: Find a delicious recipe and learn to make it. Plan to make and share this special dish with someone else in the coming weeks.

-
Study: Read 1 John 4:7-21. How does the welcome of God extend to us and through us? What does a distant and isolated lifestyle communicate about the character of God?

-
Eat: Have a meal with the friends that you enjoy being around most. Look for opportunities for meaningful conversation and connection. Use this as a trial run for welcoming people that you don't know quite as well.
